Heaven's Touch

In silent passageways and covert lanes

He traced a journey through the inner worlds

Arriving at the gateway of the soul.

He stood before a door of living light

And saw the secret entry through the heart

And felt the fire burning in his breast.

All the years of searching for the key

Condensed upon that mighty beat in time

When She with calm and majesty looked down

Upon his humbled form and touched his head,

A blessing for all ages yet to come.

The great divide of future, present, past

Was married in the morning of her smile.

Though far one travels still that touch remains

Support of all our wayward steps in time.

Though life deceives and everywhere an end

Is seen among the warring tribes of men

One must hold to a defining peace and know

Beyond the body's temporal design,

Beyond the mind that spins in worn-out grooves,

Facing death on every human front,

Even when we skirt the rim of hell,

Nothing shall be a hindrance or a bar

To the Word that seeks expression in our depths

And Heaven's touch on the immortal soul.
